Mum has had the best day for weeks. When we arrived she was sitting up in bed having just eaten macaroni and cheese for lunch and had that famous sparkle in her eye. She absolutely beamed with delight when she saw her precious wee grandson and he leaned over to give her a wee cuddle. It never ceases to amaze me what a fantastic memory my mum has, even when she is doped up with drugs. She is able to tell you who married who, when their birthday is, who their brother in law is and what their address is...and these are people she hasn't seen for years!! Dad and I left hospital this evening buoyant and overjoyed to see her so alert, wondering if by some miracle, she will be okay. However, we have a feeling that this is false hope and we will come crashing down to earth soon.
