This morning at 9.45am my world came crashing down when my beloved mum lost her brave fight against her illness. Dad and I took it in turns to spend the last 24 hours with her and he came to the hospital at 5am to let me go home and get some sleep. He held her hand, told her he loved her and that there was nothing to be frightened of. She took a couple of deep breaths and then passed away peacefully still holding his hand...the man she has loved for the past 52 years. My auntie Cathy and I joined dad and we spent some time saying goodbye. The nurses brought us a cup of tea and we had our last cup of tea with her. The messages we have had today have been absolutely overwhelming. We always knew what a special, loved woman she was but we are humbled by how well thought of she was. Rest in Peace my darling mum. You have fought with the utmost strength, courage and dignity like the true lady you were. I give you my word that you will never be forgotten xxx
